Scary stuff
One of the trails we walked in on to get a geocache last year had a notice posted by the sheriff's department with a picture of a homemade device that was on the snowmobile trail. Very deadly looking rig that some low life had placed in a manner that could have caused severe damage to anyone's machine and severe injuries to the rider(s). This was a manufactured device that had been welded together so it was very obvious that it was, indeed, a booby trap. Just like it said in the last sentence of the article you linked to, "These guys are batsh*t."
Wow..... all of that planning for my new "5" difficulty hide....and now the cat's outta the bag! Damn it. Back to the planning stages. Maybe claymore mines for version 2.0.
In all seriousness..... well..... and in all hilarity.... wow! I will say I am surprised no one has rigged up a system like this on a trail and published a cache near my home, with the intention of whacking me. Don't I have a bounty on my head in the Bangor caching community?
