Suggestions for 100th find

I will finally long find 100 in the next few days and I was hoping for some suggestions on a memorable cache.

My idea of a great #100 would be:
1. Within a 1 hour drive of Portland.
2. A multi-cache.
3. Challenging terrain with a hike of at least a mile.
4. Memorable cache location. (great view, location or clever hide)

Maybe that is too much to ask, but all suggestions are welcome.

Just a suggestion but how bout taking the ferry out to Long Island to do both of Beachcomber's caches there. Wreck Cove and Daytripper. You won't be disappointed.

Those caches are defiantly high on my list of caches I want to do, but unfortunately I don't think the timing will work out for #100. We have some family that would like to join us for that adventure and we are going to wait until they can join us.

Oh, it's your hundredth! You can drive over an hour for that! Of course, I may be biased, but I think Halfmile (GCH21C) by brdad (3/3.5) would fit the bill.

That looks like a great cache. That is exactly the type of cache that I really enjoy. I will have to keep that in mind for the future when I finally get up that way on a caching trip. Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of time for caching this weekend or next, and that is why I'm hoping to find a spot in southern Maine.

We really enjoyed the Saco Heath Preserve, which is relatively close to you. It satisfies all of your requirements except that the terrain isn't terribly challenging. There may be some roots you can trip over but no elevation gain to speak of. Still, it is one of our favorite caches, and a lot of logs agree! It's a nice long walk, easily over a mile total.

YOP's Thorn Head Challange! I haven't done it yet, but it always gets great reviews.

Tumbledown Challange is a tougher hike, but it is not within an hour of Portland. (Unless you drive really fast! )

well, i can only tell you what i think my two best caches were , as far as view etc. Blue Hill Mt. , and one in Rockport, ( Beech Hill, ) Just awesome views..... good luck

would be "Will the real Bald Mountain please stand up" It is between Wilton and Weld. I know it's a little far from Portland,but well worth the drive. A long but not to steep climb.(about a mile one way) to the summit. The veiws are breathtaking. I went up last weekend, and totaly enjoyed the experience.

Another vote for YOP's "Thorne Head challenge". It's extremely well planned, good hike, challenging but not a total brain twister and the views over the river are good.
