    Default Old 470

Many of you are probably familiar with the steam locomotive "Old 470" located in Waterville. There is a fairly popular and old cache placed on it by brdad. http://coord.info/GCAE12
Well, I stumbled onto some information today. It looks like the future of the locomotive is pretty bleak. It's in rough shape. The City of Waterville solicited bids this past May for either restoration or removal. They didn't receive any offers by the original deadline (likely because they did almost no advertising) and extended the deadline to end of August. I'm not sure when the bids are unsealed, so no idea of what the outcome is yet. Just figured I'd pass on the information. It'd be a shame to see this turned into scrap.

Old 470 has been in trouble for a few years, looks like attempts to gain money for restoration have failed. I think I already have the PDF file somewhere or one similar to it, it is pretty cool stuff.

    Thanks for the update.

Very interesting story. Very nice to see things like this. The past can not be forgotten.
I have no enemies, but I'm intensely disliked by my friends.
