Thread: How Much is Gas Where You LIve?

  1. #11

Default If you're looking for cheap gas in your area...

... check out MaineGasPrices.com. Volunteers from around the state post their local gas prices so you can see where gas is cheap, and on what day. Now we just need to find a way to link to it from GSAK so we can find the cheapest gas near each geocache!

Decided to go to the Windsor Fair yesterday as it is a good agricultural fair and has a lot of historic buildings to wander through. Combined it with a few caches up that way including "Old 470". That had been on our list for quite a while and it was worth the gas to get there. Fantastic hide.

Today we have to go down to Portland and near Westbrook so will combine it with several caches down there. Fortunately we still have maybe 100 caches within reasonable driving distance from home. I remember 25 years ago being in Ireland and in wonder of gasoline at $5.00 a gallon when it was probably less than a $1.00 here. Our turn has come.

So what does everyone predict gas prices will be by the end of the year.. I say between $4 and $5 a gallon at least.

One of the best defenses against high gas prices is to pay for it with a credit card that gives you cash back on gas purchases. I have an Irving card that gives back 3% on purchases at MainWay stations (that's more than 10 cents off per gallon at todays' prices), but there are other cards that give you up to 10% back.

Just smile it won't crack your face

The statistics on sanity are that one out of every four persons is
suffering from some sort of mental illness. Think of your three best
friends -- if they're okay, then it's you.
