If they don't like hunting the MAINE way, they can stay home.

They're not all bad though . . . once again it's a very small minority. In fact, following this incident it was an out-of-state hunter asking permission to hunt on my Uncle's property (he was denied) who clued my Uncle into who the perpetrators were and where there camp was located. A number of other hunters -- both in-state and out-of-state -- even sent my Uncle money to help offset the cost of the ER visit.

I see hunters on my property nearly every day during hunting season. Since nobody else lives within 1/2 mile of me, you'd think that anyone wanting to hunt there would ask the nearest resident.

    Nope.

The only people who have EVER asked permission to hunt on my property are a couple of locals - who are friends and wouldn't need to ask anyway - and who have never hunted on my property (that I know of) anyway.

Seems like the out-of-staters seem to think thast buying a Maine hunting license give them the right to hunt ANYWHERE.

    IMHO...

Sheesh! You must know Solon pretty well! LOL!

There's definitely a lot of truth in what you say, but, sadly, a lot of the more notorious "subsistence hunters" have passed away. Not like the "old days"...
