Congrats to the organization and thanks to those few who did the bulk of the legwork. Only planned to get five but ordered 15...

Maine has a coin?
Had originally decided on three but just Paypaled for four to be postal mailed. Thanks to all for the energy put into this.

Sheesh, Anne! If you'd ordered them for pick up at the "Beer and Cookies" event in December, you'd have saved enough to get 5 instead of 4! LOL!Originally Posted by TwoMaineiacs
Wondering why the Maine geocoins, which I love, won't be trackable on gc.com...isn't that the whole point (or much of it)?
I think it was a pricing/value and logistics issue.Originally Posted by IntotheWoods
Coins, especially ones as desirable as Maine, will not last long out in the wild. So paying for tracking is only a value to those that want to release the coin into caches. A lot of people are collecting them or using them as signature/special trade items.
Adding tracking to a coin is complicated because there are so many options; logging at GC.com is only one! If we want the next coin to have tracking, someone will need to present alternatives and then (somehow ) we will have to pick one!
You can still track them on GC.com if you want by buying a TB tag and affixing it to the coin.
Good idea, TAT! I think I will do exactly that (for one of my 10)!Originally Posted by tat

Ohhhhhhh - we were hoping you'd volunteer to coordinate the tracking aspect for the next round of coins

We're more than half-way through the order period (just 10 days left) and I'm wondering how many have been ordered... and if there are any more details on the distribution event?
Thanks for all the effort here!
