Question Best place(s) to buy GPSr/PDA cables?

Anyone care to share their sourc(s) for cables?

Maineiac1957, I know you have a PDA to GPS cable that you've had good luck with.

    I found this site:

    http://pc-mobile.net/home2.htm

which has some cool stuff at fairly reasonable prices--they are out of the US, however.

http://www.gpsgeek.com has some decent prices on a few Garmin cables and such.

http://www.pfranc.com has some do it yourself connectors for Garmin, that's how I made my data cable.

Not sure if any of these are suitable for GPS<--->PDA, but it's a start.

    Default Where I got mine.

Yes I do have one I'm real happy with. It was a little pricey but well worth it. They make them for about any combination of GPS and PDA out there. It not only synchs them together but supplies both with power from the car outlet. Check them out. www.thesupplynet.com

    $60 is pricey all right.

    Is it worth it though?

    Default Pricey

Yes it is a little pricey but does do everything I wanted. Someone on here posted about some less expensive cables. I can't recall where right now. I've been happy with what I got from Supply Net though. They make them to go with about any combination. If you see me at the wing event I'll show you what it'll do. ATTroll and Gteam have seen it in action. They can offer an opinion I'm sure.

    Default An Update...

I've wanted for some time to connect my Garmin eTrex to my laptop, but the Garmin cable comes with a serial connector, and my laptop doesn't have a serial port.

I've heard horror stories about serial/USB converters, but recently heard that the cables offered by Iogear do work. I ordered one from a seller on eBay, and will have it at the WWWWWW event.

Here's a link to the company if you want to checkthem out:

I have a serial/usb converter I bought at BestBuy and it works fine. At least I think it was BestBuy??? I'm sure it was locally. At least I think it was locally?? Yep...it's happening!

    Default Another Supplier

I posted a link in the geocaching software area of another supplier for cables. Blue Hills Innovations. Good prices and free shipping and great tech support. www.bluehillsinnovations.com

    Hmmm...

    Here's their shipping policy:

    United States Shipping Options:
USPS first class mail is free on all orders
Upgrade to Priority Mail for $5.

What's the difference between "first class" and "priority"? LOL!
