Stash notes for geocaches almost never stay on top where muggles can readily read and understand what geocaches are. Any of you who have done my ammo box caches have probably noticed my stash note tecnique.

Do we have any statistics about ratio of mugled caches with or without this note in the cache? Like is it good for anything or just we assume it will help

No statistics, even on my own caches. For some reason, no one has ever found any of my ammo box caches accidentally.

But I have heard in the national chat and the gc.com forums of occasions where people have stumbled onto geocaches. Because they had a stash not inside them, these finders were able to make a decision based on knowing what they had found. Some reported them as placed without permission, some left it for cachers to find, and some became cachers themselves.

In the end, the presence of a stash note is a no lose situation in my opinion. And Having the stash note attached to the lid of the cache increases the chance of a non-cacher noticing and reading the note dramatically.

I once read a log that said something like "Found this box while I was taking a walk. I don't really understand this, but I have left my breast cancer awareness scarf." and there was a pretty pink scarf in the cache. I imagine the entire thing would have been much less confusing to that person if there had been a note like this inside the cache.

And having a sticker on the outside certainly would alert someone that perhaps it wasn't something to blow up...........maybe

You can also print these on regular paper or card stock and use clear packing tape to seal them to the inside lid. I've done this for the ammo cans I have out and they stay nice and dry.
