Fantastic.
Well, thanks, I appreciate the kind words. But posting this was as much for me as anyone. Just doing my part to help others see it's not hard to do, and hoping it promotes caches that are a step beyond the normal, so I can have even more fun finding them!

Welcome to the site, please contribute what you can when you can!

Rock paint is a nice look as well in the right places. One of mine is done that way. it still shows you made an extra effort! If you are ever in the Bangor area and want to try camo, give me a holler - I have paint!

Nothing wrong with that at all....I'm guilty of putting some "naked" containers out there. It's good to have variety.

And let me add - naked in some cases is good - remember what would the bomb squad say?

Ammo cans with the military markings - at the very least - should have that all painted off - from there - it is up to the hider...........I usually put the cache name on it.

Rocks - I like rocks............and "naked" too!

Gee, thank you for the How To instructions and for the tip on magnetic letters. The container looked great so I'll give it a try on my next ammo can hide.

I have 93 cache hids now, and I don't think I have a single "naked cache out there. (except nanos; and I have painted some of them!) This was one of the first posts I read when I started geocaching and it has affected all my caches. Not just ammo boxes. This has become one of my favorite parts of geocaching....Cammoflaging cache containers. I spend lots of time to coammo all my caches and it's not just the process I like. The compliments in the logs are part of the reward as well.
So all of you have at it, be inventive, enjoy this part of geocaching as well. Thanks brdad for starting me on the cammo path.

The hard work shows . . . I've enjoyed all of the cache hides and the places you have brought me to . . . my only issue is that I have no time to get over to Augusta to find them.

YW, but I should be thanking you for putting that extra effort into your hides, and extending the process into other cache containers.

If anyone ever is in the Bangor area wants to try camo first hand without investing in paint, I have plenty of camo paint stocked up!

I am so new to all this....I am still learning the caching part of it, let alone the creative part.

I've only put out two regular sized caches. One is near an airport. As such, I left it naked. Well, naked in the sense that I put a large green geocaching sticker on it, and wrote "geocache" all over the box. Plus some of the local gardarme cache, So I do not believe that it will be blown up. I discovered one of Mapachi's caches in the Vaughn Woods in Hallowell that I am still in awe of. In Eustis he told me that it's made of duct tape. How anyone got duct tape to look like that is beyond me!!
